Carl Hatton's Obituary
Carl Hatton, age 81, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Carl was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Linden McKinley High School, attended Capital University and The Ohio State University.
Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Hatton, and their sons: Timothy Hatton (Leslie) of Charlotte, NC, Benjamin Hatton of Charlotte, NC, and grandchildren; Rhenna, Sawyer, Cameron, Grace; brother, Robert (Marlene) Hatton of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hatton of Keller, Texas, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews; many special long life friends in Columbus, Ohio, and Florida.
After retiring in 2009, Carl and Margaret moved to Charlotte, NC, to be near their sons and grandchildren. An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Carl also enjoyed traveling, though his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his gentleness, kindness, and for making us all laugh. He was an active and dedicated member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland and Catherine Hatton, and brothers Jerry, Tom, and Terry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Mallard Creek Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed by clicking LIVESTREAM.
