Carol M. Jones' Obituary
Carol Brooke Mullis Jones, of Harrisburg, transitioned to her heavenly home on November 3, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Charlotte on July 29, 1938 to the late Arthur and Thelma Mullis.
She retired from Piedmont Bank. While her husband worked 2 jobs, she raised 4 children. She had a contagious personality and never met a stranger. She had a great sense of humor; everyone that knew her loved her. Doris Kelly and Carol went on numerous cruises and trips. She was a member of Central Church of God in Charlotte. She loved Jesus and was ready to meet him after a brave battle with her health over 3 years. She was still talking with her family the afternoon she passed.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Joe Mullis and two sisters, Gloria Estridge and Maureen Reavis. She was also preceded in death by her soul mate, husband of 39 years, Gary L. Jones. She is survived by her oldest sister, “Boots” Cloninger (Bob) of Stanley, daughters, Debby Butler (Wayne) of Harrisburg, Sherry Younts (Ricky) of Pageland, SC and Tricia Foust (Rocky) of Monroe. She is survived by her son, Gary L. Jones, Jr. (Susie) of Monroe. She has six grandchildren, Crystal Butler Lasater (Michael), Chelsey Butler, Ashley Helms, Tara Atwell, Sarah Jones and Jesse Foust. Her 5 great-grandchildren, Parker Spittle, Alivia Helms, Camryn Butler, Skyler Jones and Hunter Davis and her special Yorkie, Sophie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County. Our hospice team was amazing. The family is thankful for their love and support. Also special thanks to Cindy Caudle, who she called her adopted daughter, for loving her and taking her to many appointments. Thank you also to special neighbor friends, Nadine Robertson and Zane Ward who loved her and her precious Sophie. Our family has adopted Zane and could not have gotten through the last couple of months without her.
The visitation will be at James Funeral Home, Huntersville from 6-8 PM Sunday, November 5. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Monday in the chapel of James Funeral Home with burial following at Forest Lawn West.
