Carol Wilson's Obituary
Carol Elaine Wilson of Charlotte, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home.
Born September 22, 1941, to Emmett D. and Helen J. Wilson in Charlotte, Carol grew up in the Long Creek community and graduated from North Mecklenburg High School. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a faithful Chancel Choir member for many years. Carol was employed by Presbyterian Healthcare for 36 years, retiring from the Medical Records department.
Carol loved her three cats, and sewing sequin calendars. She had an extreme fondness for purses, pocketbooks, wallets and shoes. She enjoyed gathering with her family on holidays, especially her birthday. She was an avid follower of the Charlotte Checkers Hockey team, Walker Texas Ranger and Matlock TV series. At all her favorite local restaurants, she was on a first name basis with all the wait staff. Carol never met a stranger and will be missed by many.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Doris A. Wilson of Huntersville and Joan W. Lippard (Barry) of Charlotte, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe D. Wilson and David M. Wilson.
A Service to Celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Trinity UMC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary and burial will be private in the church cemetery.
