Carolyn Wallace Davis, 88, of Charlotte died December 7, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1936 in Huntersville, NC to Pearl Watts Wallace and George Henry Wallace.
She married Robert “Bobby” Fred Davis in 1952 and they were married 68 years until his death in 2020. Carolyn and Bobby had 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby, daughter, Kay Davis Broome and grandson, Kevin Hollingsworth.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Myra Davis Wilson (Raymond); son, Robert “Robbie” Fred Davis, Jr. (Darlene); daughter, Renee Davis Murphy (Gregg); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Carolyn worked a couple of jobs outside of the home at Nebels Knitting Co and Bane Elementary school as a substitute lunch lady. Her greatest joy was to keep grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many children from the neighborhood. Many of the neighborhood children still keep in touch. Carolyn was very devoted to her parents. She cared for them both in their old age and stayed by and cared for her mother for 8 years after her father died. She enjoyed the annual Papa’s birthday dinner in Belmont, NC to celebrate her grandfather’s birthday until his 99 birthday and the Watts Christmas party to visit with her aunts, uncles, cousins and tons of children.

The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 15 at Prosperity Presbyterian Church with visitation one hour prior in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
