Casey Bates' Obituary
Casey Robert Bates, 26, of Huntersville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, with his loving parents by his side. He was born on December 9, 1994, in Charlotte, NC to Robert and Belinda Bates.
Casey was a man of few words, but he took everything in. He was funny & witty, but only let it show when he chose to. His close friends understood and each had their own special connection with Casey.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Brandon Bates, and his confidante/right hand man, Reggie McCauley, an angel the family couldn’t have done without.
Casey graduated from North Meckenburg High School in 2013. He enjoyed video games and sporting events. His favorite football player was Thomas Davis, his partner at the MDA Muscle Team Gala. Thomas & his wife Kelly made quite an impression on Casey.
Casey’s favorite time of the year was his week at MDA Camp. He attended from 2003 to 2012. Jerry Myers & Morgan Marvelli were with Casey for years & were a huge influence on his life.
Power Soccer was another favorite hobby where he and his teammates traveled to other states for tournaments. Casey was very competitive and loved the challenge.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 11:00 AM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville.
Because of COVID-19, the family asks for everyone coming to be cautious and practice safe attendance. If you have health concerns, the family totally understands. The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook live for all who cannot attend on the James Funeral Home Facebook page.
