Caswell Washam's Obituary
Thomas Caswell Washam, 101, of Huntersville, NC died January 11, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Wilmington. He was born on December 20, 1911 in Mecklenburg County, the son of the late William A. and Mozelle McAuley Washam. He was an active member of the Huntersville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and served as deacon, elder, treasurer and trustee. Mr. Washam was a navy veteran and retired as supervisor from Cannon Mills. Caswell always enjoyed cultivating a garden and sharing his produce, especially his tomatoes, with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter Connie Heath and husband Rick of Wilmington; sister, Hilda Carroll of Charlotte; and his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Washam and his son-in-law Bill Smith as well as siblings, Ruth Ewart, Evelyn Ellis, Vivian Porter and Catherine Washam.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday, January 13, 2013 at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Huntersville A.R.P. Church with Rev. Lee Shelnutt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
