Catherine M. Griffin's Obituary
Catherine Martin Griffin, loving mother, sister, and “Granny” passed away September 20, 2022 at the age of 69 (almost 70), surrounded by loved ones, after a long illness.
Cathee was born on October 29, 1952 in Charlotte, NC to the late Oscar C and Lillian O Martin. She was a longstanding member of Prosperity Presbyterian Church, where she also taught pre-school. Cathee’s unyielding determination and “UNbelievable” courage over the past 4 years allowed her to celebrate the birth of her grandson and the marriages of her nieces. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dear friends Barbara Arnold and Ginger McClain. And just like her mom, she never missed an episode of Jeopardy. She also had a love for animals, houseplants, and sharing meals with her loved ones.
Cathee is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nicole and John Chiulli and grandson Eli; sister Kim Helms; sister Charlotte Maggard and husband David; niece Stephanie Farmer and husband Garrett; and, niece Melissa Mabie and husband Zach.
Memorials may be made to Prosperity Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, September 25 at Prosperity Presbyterian Church with the burial to follow at Forest Lawn West. A visitation will be held at the church from 1-2 PM, prior to the service.
