Charles Rex Childers' Obituary
Chuck Childers, 62, passed away peacefully during his sleep on December 24, 2016 at home in Cornelius, NC. He had suffered from throat cancer for the past three years.
Chuck was the son of Rex Childers and the late Betty Hilliard Childers. He was born September 9, 1954 in Alamance County Hospital and lived his early days in Mebane, NC. The family then relocated to Chattanooga, TN. Chuck was a graduate of the Baylor School in Chattanooga and attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He spent the first fifteen years of his working life in the healthcare and nursing home business with twelve of these years with Beverly Enterprises, Inc. in Detroit and Indianapolis. He relocated to Davidson, NC in 1993 and operated C. Rex Jazzerie and Bistro Restaurant in Cornelius. He owned and operated Chuck Childers Realty, Inc. until his death.
Survivors include his father, Charles “Rex” Childers and brother, Tom Childers and wife Vicki, all of Cornelius.
He will be cremated and his ashes will be placed near his mother’s grave in Thomasville, NC. The funeral will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to your favorite charity or church.
