Charles "Pete" McConnell's Obituary
Charles G. “Pete” McConnell, 78, of Huntersville, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
Pete was a member of Huntersville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Frances McConnell, brothers; Bill and Bob McConnell. Pete was retired from the Town of Huntersville Parks and Recs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Long Creek and the Oasis Temple. Pete served as the chief mechanic for the McConnell Brothers NHRA Drag Racing team since the 1960s. He was also a fan of NASCAR.
Mr. McConnell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye, siblings; Jim (Diane), Butch (Kathy), Ann, Roger (Patti), many nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Benji.
Memorial contributions may be made to Huntersville United Methodist Church, and to Ramah Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 with funeral services starting at 3:00 p.m. at James Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Stout officiating. Committal services will follow at Ramah Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A catered reception will follow immediately at James Funeral Home Community Room.
