Charles Hege's Obituary
Charles Aubrey Hege, Sr., of Charlotte, NC, died February 17, 2013 at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville, NC. He was born on September 26, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Rex and Elizabeth Hege. After proudly serving in the US Army, Mr. Hege married Nancy Josephine Barwick in Charlotte on January 4, 1957. Mr. Hege was a loyal employee of the US Postal Service and served until he retired in 1997. Always active, Charlie followed his retirement by working as a courier at Presbyterian Hospital Main. He supplemented that with volunteering at his beloved church and doting on Honey, the best dog ever.

Survivors include his sons, Charles A. “Chuck” Hege, Jr. and wife Noteka, Samuel C. “Sam” Hege, and daughters, Mary “Randy” Hege Sinski and Eleanor “Beth” Hege Wallace and husband Garry and brother in law Allan Ball Barwick. Pop was also survived by his 14 grandchildren, the oldest of which is Charles Aubrey Hege III and 6 great grandchildren, which includes Charles Aubrey Hege IV.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1900 Emerywood Dr. Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive friends following the service.
