Charles "Chuck" Joseph Williams' Obituary
Charles Joseph Williams, age 78, of Charlotte, NC, died on Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Henry J. and Irene McCauley Williams.
Charles, “Chuck” to all, served his country in the US Army. He has had several occupations in his lifetime from working in the steel mills at a younger age and becoming a certified EMT working at Busch Gardens, (which was his favorite job ever.) Retiring several times over the years, his main career was with the Department of Defense Contract Audit Agency.
Chuck served as a Councilman for the City of Pinellas Park Florida. Chuck became great friends with the police and firefighters. To serve the city residents and aid the medics when an extra set of hands were needed Chuck went to school and became an EMT and he joined the brotherhood he so respected.
After accepting a position with the Shaw Company, he and his wife Cynthia moved to Charlotte. He worked with them for several years before retiring once again. Of course that did not last long. His current job was with Audrey Jones CPA Firm and again he was auditing government contracts.
Chuck loved his kids and his pets. He volunteered at CMPD Animal Care and Control. Chuck really enjoyed a good game of golf.
Charles is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cynthia Ann Johannesen Williams, sons; Christopher B. Williams of Holiday, FL, Michael Thorton (Denise) of Houston, TX; daughters, Deborah Bien (David) of Nashville, TN, Kristen Thorton, (Ning Zhao) of Charlotte, Rebekah A. Williams (Burlington); thirteen grandchildren Alex, Jacob, Aaron, Skye, Evander, Asa, Katherine, Michaela, Arcadia, Matthew, Faith, James and Audrey. Two great grandchildren Amara and Atticus.
