Russ, I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there for Cheryl’s memorial service. I know this is hard for the family. I was honored to have known her and called her my friend. She loved Allison and Ben and she drew her strength from all of you. Prayers for the family.
Cheryl was a strong and beautiful person. I knew her to be one of the hospitals nursing supervisors. She was a strong supporter of nursing and medics. I pray for her family and friends.
Cheryl, I just don't know what to say, how to believe you are gone from this world. I met you in your first RN job. I was blessed to precept you and then work shoulder-to-shoulder with you. You were a pleasant anomaly. When you crossed the unit threshold, you were a rockstar PICU nurse. You possessed incredible 'ICU nurse skills' but more importantly, you were a natural leader, honest and funny with a gift for when to use humor, give a hug or offer an ear. I miss those moments with you.
