Cindy Lou Moats' Obituary
Cynthia “Cindy” Lou Moats was born on March 14th, 1952 in Tucson, Arizona. She attended Pima College to become a dental hygienist. After getting married and starting a family, Cindy moved around quite a bit, from Colorado, to Oklahoma, to Alabama, New York, Connecticut, and, finally, to North Carolina.
Beyond her affinity for good teeth, and she had such a beautiful smile, Cindy enjoyed many things in life, but none so much as her children. She devoted her life to her children and was always there for us, laughing, crying, cooking, teaching, listening, traveling, celebrating, and, occasionally, telling a dirty joke.
The love she had for her children, and, in truth, for all her family and friends, was always seen every time we came to visit, for there always came a time to say, “Goodbye.” And when that time came, oh how Cindy would cry and cry, and oh how we would smile and laugh and shower her with kisses and hugs to try and chase away her tears.
On February 4th, 2022, Cindy’s children once again came to visit her. And when the time came to say, “Goodbye”, we followed in our mother’s footsteps, and we all cried.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Kathryn, and survived by family and loved ones in Arizona and Alabama, her sister, Jacque, brother-in-law, Bill, daughters-in-law, Laura and Britt, son-in-law, Thomas, grandchildren, Bernice, Eloise, Lena, Stella, and Grant, and her children, Rachelle, Brad, and Ryan.
An event celebrating Cindy’s life will be planned in the coming weeks.
