Clarence Miller's Obituary
Clarence C. Miller Jr., 97, of Charlotte, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 8, at his home. Clarence was born in Norfolk, VA on August 29, 1928. He is survived by his daughter, Tish Barber and husband Jerry; son, David Miller; grandsons, Jonathan Barber and wife Hellen, Justin Barber and wife Natalie, and Preston Barber and wife Ali; great grandchildren, Jayden Martin-Lebenns, Jacob Martin-Lebenns, Addison Barber, Brianna Barber, Ayla Barber, Judah Barber, Matthias Barber, Eliana Barber, and Warner Barber.
Known to his friends as C.C., Clarence was a quiet but strong man with a deep faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to doing God’s will. He loved the Lord and his family and was a devoted husband to his wife Madelyne for 58 years before her passing in 2011. He was a graduate from Virginia Tech, mechanical engineer, construction specialist, army veteran, and navy contractor. He spent most of his life in the Tidewater area of Virginia before moving to Charlotte in 2003 to be near family. One of his favorite places to spend time was the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
A memorial service celebrating Clarence’s life and legacy will be held at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 14, at 2:00 pm, with Dr. Jerry Barber officiating. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of this service.
Because of his love for God’s work and construction, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be made out to Harvest Community Church, 13301 Eastfield Rd., Huntersville, NC, 28078, and all gifts received will be forwarded to assist in constructing children’s classrooms through missionary partners in Honduras.
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family, and obituary lovingly written by the family.
