Connie Burton's Obituary
Connie Sue Paxton Burton, age 74, died on Friday, December 22, 2017. She was the daughter of the late, Lloyd E. and Helen Moore Paxton. Connie was born in Belle, W.V. on July 4, 1943.
Connie was a loving wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed raising her family and visiting those who lived in local nursing homes. She and her husband Dennis would open their home over the weekends, bringing some of the shut-ins to spend time with their family. Connie also enjoyed playing tennis, doing ceramics and during the holidays you could find her behind the local department store Customer Service desk wrapping gifts for the shoppers. Living in the Sail View community of Denver, Connie and her husband loved to participate in the local bridge clubs and supper clubs.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Ray Burton, of Denver, NC, two daughters, Denise R. MacFarquhar (Darren) of Newton, and Amy M. Burton of the home, two grandchildren, Heather Griffin (Scott) of Wingate and Nicholas Vann of Clearwater, FL., one great grandson, Blake Griffin, a brother, Rodger E. Paxton and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson Justin Vann.
A service to Celebrate Connie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm. Friday, December 29, in the chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC, 28658.
