Craig Reames' Obituary
Craig Gresham Reames, 84 of Denver, beloved husband, father and grandfather went to his heavenly home, Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Craig was a life-long native of North Mecklenburg County and a 1951 graduate of the last class at Long Creek High School. Upon graduation he was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged he met and married the love of his life for over 61 years, Anne Ingle Reames. He was a faithful member of McGee Presbyterian Church where he served in many capacities. Later in life they joined Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Covenant Sunday School class. He was an active member of the Paw Creek American Legion Posts 353, Woodmen of the World Association, and the Charlotte Lamp Lighters Dance Club. Craig was the owner of Craig Reames Construction Company, Inc., a master carpenter known for his craftsmanship and eye for detail. He enjoyed time and fellowship with his family and friends including breakfast at Shuffletown Grill, trips to the beach and sports activity of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Addie Mae Reames, and a sister, Lydia Medlin. He is survived by his loving wife Anne, daughters Marianne Goggio (Steve), Carolyn Collins (Scott), grandchildren Megan Mundy, Ben Mundy, Liam Collins, Ryan Goggio and Taylor Goggio, Brother, Thad Reames (Carolyn), and sisters, Ella Mae Stewart and Virginia Long (Charles).
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3PM, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist 1915 Oakdale Rd. Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1-3PM.
THe family would like to express their sincere love and gratitude to Dr. Mark Kremers and his staff at Mid Carolina Cardiology for the many years of diligent and skilled cardiac care and the staff at the the Levine-DIckson Hospice House for their compassionate care during his final days.
In leu of flowers, memorial as can be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or the Levine-Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville.
