Cynthia Barnette-Ferrell's Obituary
Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Barnette-Ferrell, 54, of Huntersville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer.
Cindy was born on March 5, 1971 in Mecklenburg County to Margie Barnette and the late Joe Michael Barnette. Cindy graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1989 and went on to earn an associate’s degree from King’s College in 1990.
Cindy spent the next few years, following her graduation, doing secretarial work in and around Charlotte, North Carolina. A few years later, in 1997, Cindy welcomed her son, Brian Ferrell, born on her birthday. A year later, Cindy welcomed her daughter, Kristan Ferrell.
Cindy was a devoted mother, who attended every soccer game, academic ceremony, swim lesson, etc. Cindy’s favorite place to be was at the beach, where many family vacations took place. In her spare time, Cindy enjoyed reading.
Cindy is survived by her mother, Margie Barnette, her son, Brian Ferrell, her daughter, Kristan Ferrell, and her brothers, Rick Barnette and Scott Barnette. Cindy is predeceased by her father, Joe Michael Barnette, and her brother, Mike Barnette.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 1 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the burial.
