Daisy Winkler Buvis' Obituary
Mrs. Daisy Barbara Winkler Buvis, 70, of Sherrills Ford, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 surrounded by family.
Daisy was a native of Roscoe, NY, lived most of her life in Nanuet, NY, and moved to North Carolina for retirement. She was a member of the Lake Norman New Comer’s Club, the Out To Lunch Bunch, and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and shopping. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Winkler, Elaine Montario Winkler, and a sister, Nancy Walsh.
Mrs. Buvis is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Peter Buvis, Sr., son, George Peter Buvis, Jr. of Pomona, NY, daughter, Patricia Gambuti (Robert) of Mooresville, brothers; Wayne Winkler (Margot), Larry Winkler (Marion), grandchildren; Nicole McMeans (Darren), James Mason, great-grandson, Keegan James McMeans, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 23 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
