Dale Weisent's Obituary
Dale Weisent, 75, of Cornelius, North Carolina, peacefully entered his eternal home on July 4, 2026.
Born on March 12, 1951, in Maximo, Ohio, to Ruben and Darlis Weisent, Dale lived a life defined not by titles or accomplishments, but by steadfast love, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty. Those who knew him understood that his character spoke louder than words ever could.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce; his brother, Gerry; and many others he loved deeply. He is survived by his daughter, Rachael Davis (Larry); his cherished grandchildren, Adalyn, Cooper, and Zander; his siblings, Marlene Rebillot (Gary) and Jeff Weisent (Beth); along with many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever changed by his presence.
Dale graduated from Jackson High School in 1969, before pursuing his passion for cooking at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He enjoyed a career as a chef, including time at the Canton Club, and later fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning Uptown Café in Mocksville, North Carolina. Cooking was never just a profession for Dale—it was how he showed love. He found joy in preparing meals for his family, bringing people together around the table, and making sure everyone felt cared for. He was also a devoted Ohio State football fan, proudly carrying his Buckeye loyalty throughout his life and rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his team. In his later years, Dale worked as a warehouse supervisor at Foamex until his retirement in 2023.
Dale’s relationship with God was personal, genuine, and evident in the way he lived. His faith was reflected in his kindness, perseverance, and the way he loved others. Dale’s legacy is not measured by the jobs he held or the places he lived. It is measured in the people who felt safe because he was there, in the promises he kept, in the family he chose every day, and in the steady presence he offered through life’s storms. He showed that being family is not about biology, but about showing up, staying, and loving without reservation.
His absence will be deeply felt, but the example he set will continue to live on in the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
