All I can say is I’m still in shock that you’re gone. It feels like just yesterday we were walking around New Orleans on spring break, waking up early before Suzanne and Cori to go get those delicious breakfast beignets. I really thought we’d get a round two of that trip someday.
You were such a bright spot, Daliely—the true definition of a kind and genuinely good person. No matter how much time had passed, talking to you always felt like coming home to an old friend.
You’ll be missed more than words can say.
My sweet friend. How can I put so many years of friendship into words? I can’t help but smile when I think of all the times we had together. It is so funny that my first memory of you was in high school anatomy class, dissecting a cat— that must have been terrible for an animal lover like you! But next thing I knew, you and Brittney were pulling me up on stage to dance in front of the Spanish club, and the rest was history. Growing up on Easy Street, moving into our first apartment together, cheering each other on at graduations, and swimming in the ocean any chance we could get. It really didn’t matter whether we were driving on a road trip to Florida or through McDonald’s for some chicken nuggets— even the simplest moments felt like a story we could laugh and reminisce about for years to come. You were a true and loyal friend, and you brought so much joy to every life you touched, including mine. I am lucky and blessed to have known you and to have so many great memories to choose from. I will cherish them forever. I hope your heaven is a peaceful place, with at least 43 dogs, 85 cats, maybe a chicken or 2 to keep you company til we get there. I love you, Dolce. Until we meet again, soul sister.
It is with deep sadness that I remember Daliely, a wonderful colleague and a dear friend to my daughter. I had the privilege of working with her at Mitchell Community College when she was a student, and even then, she stood out—always eager to learn, respectful to everyone, and carrying a smile that could brighten any room.
I will always remember the days we worked together and the joy she brought into every moment. Daliely was truly a blessing to all who knew her. Though her life was far too short, I trust that God has received her in His loving arms and given her eternal peace.
She was a joy to work with, and her kindness and positive spirit will be deeply missed. My heart is broken by this loss, and I will carry her memory with me always.
Daliely I’m so heartbroken that you are not here with us. Losing you is a devastating loss for our family. I have so many wonderful memories of you in my home. I will cherish them forever. Every time I make my tacos and chili I will remember you. Your face would light up when you walked in knowing “Mama Kat” made your favorite food! All the times you spent at my home you felt like another daughter to me. I will remember you every time I go to Venice beach or Santa Rosa Beach. You loved the beach like we do. I felt so happy because you wanted to stay all day long in the water like me!
You were a bright light gone way too soon. My heart ache is so heavy to say goodbye to you. Precious, sweet and loving Dee, Mama Kat loves you, misses you and will always remember our times together!
