Dallas Gene Carter's Obituary
Dallas Gene Carter of Stanley, NC passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Dallas was a native of Lincolnville, Pa, moving to St. Cloud, Florida 1969. While in Florida, he was a volunteer firefighter and also owned and operated his own landscaping company until retiring and moving to Stanley, NC in 2006 to be near his grandkids. Upon moving to North Carolina, he was unable to sit still and went to work with his son at Toyota until January of 2023.
He was a member of Neighborhood Church of Huntersville, NC, and a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Fl. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, grilling, gardening, and wood working. He also enjoyed drinking coffee on the front porch, and
spending time with his family, especially playing games with them during the holidays.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alvirda Carter, his sister, Beverly Sutter, and brothers, Robert & Dennis Carter.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Lou Carter; their children, Christine Hayes of St. Cloud, Florida, Paul Carter of Stanley, NC, daughter in law, Summer Carter; grandchildren; Dallas Logan, Dylan, and Dalton all of Stanley, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at James Funeral Home Chapel in Huntersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, 1:00 pm to 2:00 PM at funeral home. Following the service the family will have a reception for everyone in the funeral home Community Room.
