Dan Smith's Obituary
Daniel "Dan" Raymond Smith, 60, of Huntersville passed November 23, 2022. He was born on January 30, 1962 in Manchester, CT to the late Raymond and Betty Smith.
Dan loved his family and was a devoted , fun loving father and husband, and a faithful member of First Church Charlotte. Some of his favorite things to do were beach vacations, trips to the Caribbean and taking Cruises. He also enjoyed the simple things such as sitting out on his patio, boating on Lake Norman and weekly Sunday dinners with family watching football / NASCAR or relaxing in the pool.
A dedicated and hard-working person who was loyal to his employers. He retired from Hamilton Standard after 38 years when he moved to NC, but found his dream job at Roush Yates Manufacturing until he passed. Dan was a former stock car crew chief an avid NASCAR fan and was thrilled to attend many races from pit row.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Langhorne Smith to whom he was married for nearly 25 years, sons, Kyle (Maeghon) , Matthew (Ashley), Nik, and Geoffrey Smith and adopted by love - Arki Thorton and his grandchildren; Everie, McKenna, Christopher, Kaleb, Emma and Jocelyn.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at First Church Charlotte, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00am, 4929 N. Sharon Amity, Charlotte, NC 28205 and on December 10, 2022, 11:00AM at The Pentecostals of Greater Hartford , 54 Bolton Street, Hartford, CT 06114.
