Daniel Lee Herring's Obituary
Daniel (Danny) Lee Herring 70 yrs. old of 200 3rd Street in Huntersville, NC passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 2, 1954.
Danny was a loving, kind-hearted man. He loved animals, especially cats. He also loved his family, all kids, camping and traveling to Tennessee where some of his family and friends lived.
Danny was a free spirited person who also loved to be in the mountains every chance he got.
There was one time Danny got caught smoking by his step father. So he went and got him some cigars and told him to start smoking them, thinking that it would make him sick so that he wouldn't ever smoke again. After 3 cigars Danny started acting like he was getting sick. So his dad walked off, and Danny lit another cigar and laughed and said "aww" this is good.
Danny grew up at his home place in Huntersville with his mother and step father. Also with his 2 brothers, 2 step-sisters, 1 step- brother, and 2 cousins.
Danny is survived by his loving Mother, Marylou Richards of Concord, NC; His brothers, Walter Herring, Jr and wife Debra of Mooresville NC, Michael Herring and wife Pamela of Concord NC; His step-sisters, Donna Tallman and her husband Mike of Bluff City, Tennessee, Jacqueline Johnson of High Shoals, NC; His step- brother Michael Richards and wife Susie of Shelby, NC; He had several aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter G Herring Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland; His step-father Jack Richards of Huntersville, NC; Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 11am at Church of God of the Bible, 109 2nd Street Huntersville, NC with Rev. Ronnie Milam to officiate.
His ashes will be taken to the family cemetery in Newland, NC at a later date.
