David Ray Brackett's Obituary
Ray Brackett, 86 of Davidson, NC. January 10, 1933 - May 16, 2019.
Born in Shelby, NC to the late Romie and Lora Lee Brackett. Ray served in the US Air Force. After receiving his Master's Degree from the University of Michigan, he moved to Port Washington, Long Island, where he opened his own accounting firm. He returned to his home state of North Carolina and continued his practice for over 45 years.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Diane Bellas-Brackett; son, David Brackett (Jamie) of Port Washington, NY; daughters, Pamela Overcash (Brian) of Mooresville, NC and Dawn Carney (David) of Chandler, AZ, with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078, www.hpccr.org, or the Alzheimer's Foundation, alzfdn.org
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 19 from 2-3:30 at James Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 3:30 PM in the chapel.
