David Elzie Borders' Obituary
David Elzie Borders, age 54, of Irmo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 2nd 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital of acute leukemia. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4th at Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Irmo with Dr. Ed Carney officiating. Family visitation will take place immediately following the service. Burial will follow on Monday after a private graveside service at First Baptist Church in Huntersville, NC.
David was born in Salisbury, NC in 1960. Having grown up in Salisbury and Newtown, CT, he attended Campbell University in NC and University of Connecticut in Danbury, CT. He was employed by Verizon Wireless.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Jennie, and his three children, Laura, Anna, and Christopher, his parents, Elzie and Elaine Borders, and sister Laura (Mike) Owen, and brother Paul (Katherine) Borders, and six nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, gifts to the American Red Cross or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are encouraged.
