David Robert Fickle's Obituary
It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of David Fickle (of Davidson, NC) announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, February 22, at the age of 69. David was born on December 5, 1953 in Rome, Georgia to James (late) and Patsy Fickle.
David served 3 years in the U.S Army followed by college at Clayton State College, Georgia State University, and Strayer University, holding many degrees in journalism, photography and business. His passion and occupation for most of his adult life was designing tooling and automation applications. He enjoyed a successful career in sales with both Ingersoll Rand and Ziegler Tools. His hobbies included golf, photography of family and friends, hanging at the lake with his grandsons and snorkeling.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Norma-Jean; their children Courtney Coombe (Jeff) and Ashley Whitaker (Lewis); grandchildren Jeremiah, Jaxon, Jakob and Dylan; sister Shirley Norris (of Melbourne, FL) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Manish Patel and the staff at Piedmont Healthcare Internal Medicine, Dr. Poras Patel and staff at Southern Oncology, Novant Cardiology and Bayada nursing for their care and compassion.
