David Paul Bjorneboe's Obituary
David Paul Bjorneboe, 52, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Huntersville, NC died April 20, 2016. He was born on June 11, 1963 in Charlotte, NC to Paul and Marie Fisher Bjorneboe and grew up in Huntersville, NC.
A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, David passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Fort Lauderdale of complications from hemochromatosis. He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida where he became a pilot and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Business Planning and Administration. David worked for various aviation authorities in Florida: Miami-Dade Aviation Department, Florida Department of Transportation as the Aviation Programs Administrator covering Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, and Broward County Aviation Department as Assistant to the Aviation Director. Over the last seven years, he worked as a consultant in the transportation industry for FDOT and Miami-Dade Transit. He was currently consulting with the Broward County Aviation Department. Due to his love of the Bahamas, David managed the Abaco Inn in Hopetown on Elbow Cay in the Abaco Island Chain, where he and his sister spent many happy hours. David had a lifelong passion for aviation. He also loved fishing, especially in the Everglades, and travelled all over the southeast in his parents’ motor home attending NASCAR races with his family. He explored the world as well, visiting destinations all over Europe and the Caribbean. David will be remembered for his gregarious sense of humor, and his fun-loving approach to life. David will be forever missed by his family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Cynthia Bjorneboe Zande of Huntersville; brother, Stephen Mark Bjorneboe of Beverly Hills, CA; niece, Brittany Anne Kuck of Huntersville; nephew, Chandler Matthew Zande of Mooresville, NC; and great-nephew, Landen Michael Jansen of Huntersville.

Also, in the future, his family plans to set up a foundation in his honor to aid in the research for a cure for hemochromatosis. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, April 27 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Felts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. So that his many, many friends in Florida and the Bahamas may pay their respects, a memorial service will be planned in Fort Lauderdale as well, to be announced at a future date.
