I was visiting Arlington with my son who is a plebe at the USNA. We stopped the car to take it all in and take a picture. It happened to be in front of David's marker. My son was a former enlisted and will continue in the USMC this and other?? Reasons made me single out a certain marker. I was drawn and felt compelled to research who this man was. Thanks for his service! I know he is still guiding his fellow Marines. Rip warrior

The loss of David touched my heart. He was mentioned in a Christmas letter to me as a friend of the Alan Ryczek family in Huntersville. David must have been a wonderful person and much missed. Alan Ryczek is a distant college friend of mine from over 40 years ago. And so a friend of Alan's is a friend of mine and the loss is shared. Sincerely Greg Springate Portland Oregon

Dear Remick Family,
I pray that you feel the Lord's comfort in these tough days. I met David in Afghanistan where he was on a partner Advisor team. I spent a week or two living with his team and was his personal driver across Helmand Province on their final convoy. I remember chatting with a friendly, relaxed, kind young leader. I know he was a good man and beloved by his friends and brothers in arms. Nothing can ever make up for the loss but I am glad I got to know him a little bit in a dangerous time, and hope you all can be proud of the honor he brought on the family.

I grew up with David and the rest of the Stourbridge Boys and though it has been years since I have seen David I still feel his loss and I will keep you family in my thoughts and prayers.
There are no words that can help in this time or grief and sorrow, but I hope that thoughts and prayers will provide a small smile on your face. Watching David, Sam (IAM) and Thomas grow up and play in the neighborhood was awesome. David was always a pal to Krissy and she always had kind words for him. Please know if you come back to Huntersville our home is always open to you and yours including Trippy.
