David Robinson's Obituary
David Allen Robinson, 66, of Cornelius passed away Thursday, March 21,2019.
David was born in Charlotte and was a lifelong resident of Cornelius. He was a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans and studied the war between the states his entire life. He was a true devout defender of the south and its heritage. David was a lover of sports particularly the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and the Duke Blue Devils basketball team.
More than anything he loved being with his family. No one could tell a story like him. He always made them come alive and he was adored by many. He never met a stranger, everyone knew and loved him especially his humor and kind heart.
David was preceded in death by his parents Quentine and Frances Readling Robinson. He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years of marriage Lisa Arbaugh Robinson and their children; Travis Daniel Robinson of Cornelius, Jeremy Willis Dance Robinson (Mandy Smith) of Cornelius, and Kari Lorraine Robinson of Cornelius, grand children Destiny Smith, Brian Mann, Braedon Smith, and Asher Riley Foxhall Robinson. He was also a very devoted uncle to his niece Sarah Emerson of West Virginia and two nephews Aaron and Austin Ferguson of Ohio. He had many loving cousins particularly Judy Gammon of Cornelius, and Jane Almond of Davidson as well as his best friends who he considered more like brothers; Barry
Robbins, David Porter, Bob Bryant, and Kenny Brotherton. David and Lisa were blessed with an extended family over the years. They loved these precious young people as if they were their own children; John McConnell, Eric Rogers, Mike Hagler, Pat and Brittany Burch, Holly Johnson, Adam and Phillip Jenkins, Jennifer Call, Matt Bagwell, and Ryan Wachob.
There will not be a visitation or service at this time. A gathering will be held on a future date. The family does ask if anyone would like to pay respects, they may donate to the American Diabetes Association, Autism Awareness, Wounded Warrior, American Cancer Foundation, or to a local animal shelter as David loved all animals.
James Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.jamesfuneralhomelkn.com.
