Dean Metz's Obituary
Dean Metz, 67, of Huntersville NC, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026. He was born on October 7, 1958 to the late Jean Huyett and Joseph Price Metz in Monroeville, PA, where he spent his lively early years with his brothers, Joseph and Eric, and his many close lifelong friends.
Dean spent his life in the pursuit of teaching, helping others, providing for his family, and working hard as an engineer. He also loved the game of football and the annual trips to Cape May, NJ with his family.
Dean is survived by his wife of forty years, Beth Metz; and his daughter, Allison Metz (The Bird). Dean is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Metz of Harrisburg, PA, and Eric Metz of Scottsdale, AZ; and by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville. Family and friends are then invited to a reception and time of fellowship.
Dean was definitely “one of a kind”.
