Mike; So sorry to here of Debbie's passing. I know she is in a better place but it's always hard to lose one so loved and respected at anytime. I know it's hard to lose your wife and your children their mother but her suffering is over and good thoughts and memories will prevail forever! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. My sincere sympathy to Debbie's family and all the friends and especially the children that she had such a positive influence on. She was a gift to families in ISS. I only met her once as an advocate for a child, but her knowledge, empathy and compassion for the student during the special education process made a huge impact on me. She treated everyone with the utmost respect. She was truly an angel for students. God bless her!

I first worked with Mrs. Hourigan at Troutman Middle, back in the late 90s. I also had the privilege of working with her at Scotts Elem. last school year. She told me that I could call her Debbie instead of Mrs. Hourigan. I told her I thought she was too classy for someone like me to call her by her first name. So, as friendly as we were with each other, it was always Mrs . Hourigan. She was a very sweet person, and I will miss seeing her at professional developments. Praying for the family.

I was truly saddened to hear about Debbie and I am very sorry for your loss. Debbie was in the class after mine at Oxford and I will always remember Debbie's smile and positive nature. She had a way about her that would make anyone smile even on the most stressful of days. I've always considered her to be a true friend and I enjoyed catching up with her on those rare occasions when we both attended an Oxford function in the past. She was an angel and I pray God will lift your spirits and protect and guide you during this difficult time. And, I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
