Denise Marie Hall's Obituary
Denise Marie Hall, 64, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with FTD. She was born on July 4, 1961 in Providence, RI to the late Harry and Phyllis Hall. A lifelong Rhode Islander, she grew up and lived in Cranston, RI, before relocating in 2022 to Charlotte, NC, to be closer to her daughter.
Denise was a graduate of Cranston West, Class of 1979, where she participated in VICA. Growing up, she played ice hockey and was part of a group of pioneering women who competed in the first women’s ice hockey league in the state of Rhode Island. After high school, she worked in the restaurant industry at L.L. Evan, where she met many of her closest friends. Denise went on to earn her Associate’s degree in Radiography from the Community College of Rhode Island and an Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology from the New England Institute of Technology. She worked as a technician in X-ray, CT scan, and MRI for over 30 years. Most notably for Barrington Urgent Care, Metacom Medical Associates, and Memorial Hospital of RI. Denise was fiercely independent and hardworking, often working in multiple medical practices at the same time.
Much like her birth date, Denise was a firecracker and had a punchy sense of humor. She enjoyed baking pies and cakes for family gatherings and spending time with friends. She was a huge dog lover and avid walker in her spare time. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter and the close bond they shared.
Denise is survived by her daughter, Erica Riendeau, of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Donna and Rick Marchetti of Smithfield, RI, and Doreen and David Fletcher of Johnston, RI; many nieces and nephews; and devoted friends.
Donations may be made in Denise’s memory to Brain Support Network, The Remember Me Foundation, or the AFTD.
A celebration of life will be held in July in Cranston, Rhode Island. Details will be shared at a later date.
