Denise Spencer's Obituary
Ms. Denise Patricia Spencer, 69, of Davidson, NC was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 9, 2020.
Deni was born on June 22, 1950 in Chicago, IL and was a 1968 graduate of James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, IL. She spent her first 35 years in the greater Chicago area where she married Gary F. Spencer, her husband for 23 years, and raised their four children. While in Illinois, Deni was active as a member of the Catholic Church, President of the PTA, and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She and her family moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1985 where she established a career as an Administrative Assistant and Office Manager at various senior adult living communities. In the years immediately after the move to Florida, Deni continued to be active in the Catholic Church as a Catechism Teacher for middle school grades, and as a loving and devoted mother whose free hours were most often spent supporting her children’s pursuits on the baseball and softball diamonds of Volusia County. Always one who appreciated a well-kept home, Deni launched a cleaning business she operated until her move back to the Chicago area where she helped to provide care for her aging mother. She moved to North Carolina in 2016 and made her home in Davidson. Deni most loved being a mother to her four children; Grammie to her five grandchildren; her dog, Mya; and, was deeply dedicated to watching Hallmark movies, cleaning and organizing. She loved people, treating everyone she encountered with kindness and respect, and people loved her in return. Deni was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Martin Utt, and her beloved mother, Grace Emily Utt.
Deni is survived by her four children: Dawn Bussey (Chris) of Ormond Beach, FL, Chad Spencer (Melanie) of Denver, NC, Jason Spencer (Jennifer) of Davidson, NC, and Debra Seacrist (John, deceased) of Ormond Beach, FL.
Grandchildren: Cy Spencer, Madalyn Butler, Cade Spencer, Riley Spencer, Reagan Spencer.
