Dennis Williams' Obituary
Dennis was the fourth child born to Doris Thorpe Williams and Thomas Elllis Williams III, in Wake County, North Carolina. He spent his childhood in Raleigh and was educated in the Catholic school system. He was baptized and gave his life to Christ at an early age.
Dennis had a passion for food and cooking. He began to develop those skills as a teenager. He later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he continued in his pursuit of his passion, and became a chef. He belonged to the chef's association of Charlotte, where he served as Sergeant at Arms.
Dennis also loved music. He especially loved singing and the vibrant sounds of the electric guitar. In Charlotte, he joined First Baptist Church West where he exercised, his melodious, tenor voice. His favorite guitarist, of course, was Jimi Hendrex. He had quite an extensive record album collection enough to completely fill an Ikea 16 slot shelving system. He loved to entertain everyone by spinning his vinyl collection. You name it Dennis had it.
Dennis was a sports fan. He liked all sports. but his favorite was football. He was a Panthers fan and a member of the Charlotte Roaring Riot Fan Club.
Dennis never met a stranger and was loved by all. He had charisma; the ability to make people comfortable whether he was at a carving station or simply making a purchase at the convenience store.
While enjoying his work and social life in Charlotte, he met the love of his life Grace Honma. They were united in holy matrimony in 1986 and remained together until his death.
He will be missed by all his loved ones and friends, and we are all grateful and blessed that he has touched so many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Grace of Huntersville, brothers Emory of Harrisburg, Carlos (Jackie) of Raleigh, Mustafa (Tawanna) of Lumberton, sister Deborah (John) of Charlotte, Aunts Lillie McDonald of Washington, DC and Gloria Lockett of Tinton Falls, NJ, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
