Diana Miller's Obituary
Diana Swartz Miller, 81, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Huntersville, North Carolina. Born on October 2, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Bryce and Jeanne Swartz, Diana’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and grace.
Diana’s journey through life was one of transformation. She built a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. Her heart became complete despite hardship and adversity. Her quiet strength and undeniable presence made heads turn wherever she went. Diana loved to laugh; she surrounded herself with humorous personalities. A lifelong learner, open to new ideas, her world always grew in both wisdom and inclusion, a model for us all. She became an enthusiastic supporter of those around her. Cracking the code to her heart was the most rewarding, as she loved proudly.
Being a matriarch isn’t easy. Diana embraced her role with elegance and grace, never letting her crown fall. She treasured family gatherings with strong opinions about who gave the best hugs or made the best dishes. Known for her classic sense of style, she never left home without perfectly applied lipstick. If you saw her around town, she had a seasonally appropriate purse and shoes that always looked brand new. Fall was her favorite time of year; its vibrant colors complemented her polished demeanor.
Diana found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sunsets on the lake, boat rides with Chip her late husband, and the companionship of her cherished pets: Cat, Fang, Smudge, Scruffy, Cash, and others. She also delighted in being the “executive taster” of her late husband Chip Miller’s cooking and homemade bread—a role she embraced with ease.
Family was at the core of Diana’s world. She is survived by her children: Travis Harrison and wife Christine; Pam Ray; Shannon Zenner; stepdaughters Shannon Ward (Tim) and Jennifer White (Ryan); sister Jan Rowland; brother Paul Swartz and wife Carol; as well as grandchildren Lea (Kaz), Alexa, Loren (Leighton), Callie, Austin (Leah), Thomas (Anna), Nathan (Aspen), Tate, Austin, Jay, Grady, and Mason. She was predeceased by her husband William “Chip” Miller and sister Judy Allan.
Diana’s legacy is one of love—for family, life’s small pleasures, and connection with others. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor, time and place to be announced.
