Dolores Ann Mellone's Obituary
Dolores Mellone passed away peacefully in her home on June 10th, surrounded by family. She was 88 years old.
Originally from Peekskill, NY, Dolores devoted her life to her family and lived to see four generations of Mellone’s as a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Vinny (Poppie), building a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Together, they raised four children: daughter Marie and their sons Vincent, Joseph, and Richard. In addition she is survived by three daughter in laws, Carolyn, Kitty, and Stephanie Mellone. Dolores took immense pride in her and Vinny’s legacy: her grandsons—Nicholas, Christopher, and Joseph brought her endless joy. Her legacy continued through her great-grandsons, Vincent and Anthony, all who lovingly called her “Nannie.”
A woman of deep faith, Dolores was a devout Catholic whose life was guided by love and prayer. She was a member of both St. John Neumann and St. Mark Catholic Churches, where she found great joy and purpose through her involvement in parish life and community.
Dolores will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her love for her family, and the gentle strength with which she touched all who knew her. She is now reunited with Poppie in heaven, and they will live in our hearts forever.
Family will receive friends on Monday June 16th from 9:00-9:45am at James Funeral home in Huntersville, NC. A mass will follow at St. Marks Catholic Church at 11am.
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.
