Donald "Donnie" Beard's Obituary
Donald Paul “Donnie” Beard, 61, of Charlotte, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior April 28, 2014 at University Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1953 in Mecklenburg County to Ruth Wiggins Beard and the late Robert Moffatt Beard. He retired in 2007 as a Chief Fire Marshal of Mecklenburg County. He also served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard for 33 years.
Survivors include his wife Mary Clayton Beard; daughter Kerri Corbitt and husband Matthew of Concord; son Kirk and wife Kisha of Concord; brother Wayne Beard and wife Pam and sister Vicki Robbins and husband Danny; grandchildren, Mikayla, Keegan and Kaylee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connect Christian Church, 3101 Davidson Hwy Concord, NC 28027 or The Refuge Church, 230 Refuge Way, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, May 1 at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 2 at The Refuge Church with interment following at Carolina Memorial Park.
