Donna McElveen Hyde's Obituary
Donna McElveen Hyde, born July 22, 1958, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 67. Donna was a gracious and deeply caring person who found genuine joy in celebrating and uplifting others.
Donna enjoyed planning family events and loved making people feel special. She especially loved baby showers and wedding showers, putting her heart into every detail, and finding thoughtful ways to remember and celebrate others.
Donna spent many years at her long-term care residence, where she built meaningful friendships and was loved by many.
Donna shared a deep and lasting bond with her cousin, Cathy, and held a special friendship with Haytham, both of whom meant so much to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Hyde; her father, mother, brother, and sister. Donna will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the way she made others feel truly cared for.
Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 PM for a time of visitation and the memorial service will start at 1:00 PM. The interment will follow after the service at Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville.
