Doris "Dee" Russell's Obituary
Doris Russell, of Charlotte, NC, better known as “Dee”, passed away from natural causes on November 2nd, 2015 at The Pines in Davidson, NC. Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lois Williams, and husband B.R. Russell. Survivors include her two daughters; Linda Rich and her husband Alan of Lakeland, FL, and Debra Lofland and her husband Frank of North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Dee was born in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from Wingate College. For over 48 years she was employed by Wilson Lewith Machinery Corporation of Charlotte as an officer manager. Dee was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church since 1973. In 1998 she was named “Woman of The Year” by the women of the church because of her dedication and support to so many. Dee can be best described as a very dedicated and giving woman and will be missed by all of her family and friends.
In celebration of Doris Russell’s life, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church cemetery in Huntersville, NC with Pastor Jimmy Howard officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow in church fellowship hall.
