Doris N. Gibson's Obituary
Doris Navey Gibson, 91, of Huntersville, passed away at the home of her daughter, Ann and Dean Benton on January 23,
2012. Born in Charlotte on November 8, 1920, Doris was the fourth daughter of the late Richard Lee and Madge Wilkinson Navey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Gibson, who passed away on December 12, 2003; daughter, Ricky Elizabeth and 4 sisters, Ferne Lambeth, Eula Kistler, Margaret Conley and Rubye Lloyd.
Doris lived in this area all of her life and was a member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church for 52 years. She was truly an “angel lady” as she loved working in the yard with her hundreds of angel trumpet flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann and husband Dean Benton, who loved her as a mother (of Cornelius); grandchildren, Trey Barnette (Julie) and Michael Barnette (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Jessie, Joshua, and Jordan and Savannah, Alexander and Molly, all of whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are sisters, Nancy Hargette of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Asbury of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Services will be held at Huntersville Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.
