Dorothy Honeycutt Brown's Obituary
Dorothy Honeycutt Brown “Dot”, 89, of Huntersville died December 18, 2013 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. She was born on November 14, 1924 in Iredell County to the late Andrew Jessie and Della Freeze Honeycutt.
She was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder and graciously shared her time and talents in many other areas of the church. She was presented Honorary Life Member in 1993 and was selected as Outstanding Older Adult by the Charlotte Presbytery in 2009.
She is survived by her daughter Janice Roberts and husband Tom of Huntersville; grandchildren Todd Roberts (Amber) and Kerri Poe (Stuart); great grandchildren Emily, Will and Eve Roberts and Braxton and Blake Poe; brothers Gene Honeycutt (Phyllis) and Pete Honeycutt (Barbara), and sister Margaret Neel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years William Vernon Brown, son David Vernon Brown, and sister Kathleen Seibert.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Church Cemetery Fund, 19920 Bethel Church Rd. Cornelius, NC 28031 or the Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 Friday, December 20 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Cain and Rev. J.E. Wayland Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 1:30-3:00 in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
