Dorothy Moss' Obituary
Dorothy Davidson Moss, age 84, of Huntersville, died June 14, 2012 at her home. She was born July 15, 1927 in Marshville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Dean and Julia Barrett Davidson.
She was a graduate of Lilesville High School, class of 1944, and attended Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1947. She worked as a private duty nurse for 25 years, and was Duke Power Company’s first corporate nurse. She retired in 1987. In 1948 she married William E. Moss (Eddie) who preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by sons, Bill & wife Mary of Huntersville; Dave and wife Carrie of Huntersville; Bob and wife Susan of Huntersville; grandchildren, Rob and wife Amie, Amanda and husband Nate Woodburn, Parks and wife Brooke, Stephen, David and Terrell; great granddaughters, Kynlie and Aubrey; brother, Clyde Davidson, Jr. and wife Bettie.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 4:00-6:00pm at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Allan Purtill & Rev. Didi Wayland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
At Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Dorothy was an Elder, member of the Wayland Sunday School Class, The Mary Torrence Circle, past president of the Young at Heart, the Happy Knitters Prayer Shawl Ministry, and the Craft Bazaar Group. She was awarded Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women, and Elder Emeritus.
