Douglas Kydd,'s Obituary
Douglas A. Kydd, Jr., 89 of Denver, NC, previously from Bellmore NY, died November 13 at Olde Knox Commons. Doug was born to Douglas Sr. and Lena in Lowell Massachusetts where worked at the family Dairy business. In between graduating from Brown University and Boston University School of Law, he spent time in the Pacific Ocean area as a United States Navy Officer. He was admitted to the law practice in Massachusetts upon graduating from law school. A dozen years with a major oil company left Doug enamored with business transactions and the business aspects of developing properties, more than practicing law. He had done much of this work for major national companies over the years. In recent years, Doug shifted to real estate development work for health services organizations and he spoke often about enjoying the relationships with the people he met and worked with at these organizations. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing more than anything else.
He is survived by long time best friend Audrey Ramme, daughter Nancy and husband Peter Titus, son Douglas III and wife Pam. Grandchildren Courtney Owens, Carissa Sawyers, and Matthew Kydd. Great grandchildren McKenzie, Cadence, and Grayson.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday, November 18 in the chapel of James Funeral Home, Huntersville. The family will receive friends following the service.
