Earnest Bell Sr.'s Obituary
Earnest Bell, Sr., 83, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026. Born on December 30, 1942, in Dallas County, Alabama, he was the son of the late Willie Bell and Everlean Campbell Bowman.
In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Florence Crum Bell, his son, Earnest Bell, Jr., and grandson, Andre Graydon.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dorethea Eley, Anjanette Sorsby (Marc), Regina Dix (Melvin), Diane Williams (Tytus), Stephanie Draine, and Lorna Lynne Hall (Robert); his grandchildren, Ortez Fields, Kelvin Dix, Keonte Dix, Malik Jones, Denise Williams, Janice Williams, Tytus Williams II, George Graydon Jr., and Jordenn Hall; and his great-grandchildren, Reign Fields, Kingston Dix, Legend Fields, Legacy Fields, Jase Teamer, Carter Harris, Jeremiah Williams, Iriss Bryant, Scarlette Bryant, Raine Bryant, Paisley Williams, Paxton Williams, Zaira Graydon, DeAndre Graydon, Giovanni Graydon and Aubree Graydon; and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Earnest was a hardworking man who devoted his life to providing for and caring for his family. Known for his kind spirit and friendly nature, he was well-liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He took great pride in keeping his home and surroundings immaculate, and his attention to cleanliness was well known among family and friends.
One of the greatest blessings of Earnest's life was the remarkable love he shared with his wife, Florence. Their marriage of 60+ years was built on devotion, respect, and an unbreakable bond that served as an inspiration to those around them.
In his free time, Earnest enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found peace in working in his yard, taking walks, and spending quiet time at home. He was an avid fan of Western movies and television shows and never missed an opportunity to watch Family Feud. In his later years, he also enjoyed the excitement of playing slot machines.
Earnest will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his unwavering dedication to his family, and the love he freely gave to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, commitment, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 5, 2026 at 21250 Mendota, Ferndale MI 48220 at 3:00 p.m.
