Ed Hall's Obituary
Edward Carlis Hall (“Ed”), 82, of Cornelius, NC, passed away on April 21, 2016 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
Ed was born on February 8, 1934 in Success, AR, to the late Merrill and Ruby Hall. He was a long-time resident of St. Louis, MO, where he enjoyed a successful life-long career at A&P and the Wetterau bakery.
Throughout his life, Ed enjoyed sports tremendously. As a young man, he was a Golden Gloves boxing champion, a talented amateur baseball player and even a race car driver on the short tracks of Missouri. Until the end, Ed was a devout fan of his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and greatly enjoyed auto racing.
Affectionately known by many as “Fast Eddie,” he will be remembered for the extreme kindness, loyalty, generosity, honesty and love that he exhibited towards his family and friends alike.
Ed is survived by his wife, Novella Hendricks Hall; daughter, Patti Wallace and husband, Rusty of Cornelius; brother, Floyd Hall; sisters, Merrill Hemphill and Pat Tharp; and grandchildren, Greg, Katie and Stephen Wallace.
A service to celebrate the life of Ed Hall will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in the chapel of James Funeral Home in Huntersville (www.jamesfuneralhomelkn.com). Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10-11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
