Edith Colleen Linblad's Obituary
Mrs. Edith Colleen Linblad, 98, of Mooresville, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Colleen was born in Chicago, IL on April 2, 1926 and raised her family in Cincinnati, OH with Tom Sr, her loving husband of 51 years and her two children. While in Cincinnati, Colleen was a municipal secretary for the City of Forest Park. She retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 1997 where she was an active member of her local church and enjoyed golfing, fishing, knitting, shopping, boating and reading. She loved to travel with her family on many overseas adventures. Colleen also tried on occasion to hit a jackpot on the penny slots. She lived the last 11 years in North Carolina near her granddaughters (and their “gems” of husbands) and many great-grandchildren. Colleen kept her mind sharp as an avid reader of legal mysteries and playing cards and dominoes with her friends in North Carolina but most of all enjoyed spending time with her growing family and having cocktails on the patios of her many “lovely spots."
Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 1997, and her daughter, Cherie, in 2013, and her great-grandson, Jeffrey, in 2020. She is survived by her son, Tom Jr. (Peggy), her sister, Donna, and five grandchildren (all married), 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many more loving extended family members.
The family is having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 17, 2024. (The family will send out personal invites)
Expressions of sympathy can be sent to her eldest granddaughter,Lisa Zwilling, at P.O. Box 839, Troutman, NC 28166.
