Efird Robinson,'s Obituary
Efird Robinson Jr., 76, of Davidson, NC, entered this world on July 27, 1938 and departed at peace with his Lord and children on
November 2, 2014. He was born in Lincolnton, NC., to the late Efird Robinson, Sr. and Chaster Forney. He was a hard working man; Efird enjoyed the rest of his life with his wife of 35 years, Betty Graham Robinson, until her death in October 2009. In his younger years he loved to play baseball and travel. Efird was actively involved at Union Bethel AME Zion Church~ Cornelius, NC., until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by all his siblings, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
Efird is survived by children, Linda Forney, Francis Forney (Glenda), Francessia Jackson (Art), Sharria Abdul-Hakeem (Faheem), Shunta Price (and the late Alex), Erica Robinson, Nia Bennett (Roger) and Tachera Robinson. He is also survived by grandchildren: Demetril Sharpe(Mike), Tyanne Henderson, Brandon Forney(Sherilyn), Maurice McGowan, Shantell Forney, Gregory Jackson(Rachel), Brandy Price, Rashea Everett, Kayla Price, Roger Bennett, Elijah and Alexia Connor; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; special brother-n-law, Lester Brice; a host of nieces, nephews, family and many friends that loved him. The family would like to acknowledge their father's special friends, Jerry and Shirley Little, Mary Walsh, and Marzetta Boger, former wife of 12 years and they had 5 children together.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 7th, 2014 in the chapel of James Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC., Pastor Ellison Bowman will be officiating. Visitation will following the service in the chapel. The family will also receive friends at the Robinson home after the service at 308 Houston Street, Davidson, NC., 28036.
Memorials may be made to the Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. The family would like to express a warm thank you to the Reeves Temple AME Zion Church~Davidson, NC., for the thoughtfulness and many acts of kindness.
