Elaine Woods' Obituary
Elaine Diane Nemens Woods, 77, of Cornelius died September 24, 2023 at her home. She was born on March 21, 1946 in New York, NY to the late Louis and Lillian (Harris) Nemens.
Elaine was an exceptional critical care nurse who was kind, compassionate and very intuitive. She was a great friend who was generous and always present. She had a pep in her step and a feather in her hair, youthful and always with a smile. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and was always quick to help others. Elaine was a fan of the St Louis Cardinals and was a loyal supporter of the Charlotte Hornets and of the arts where she volunteered at the Belk Theater as well as the Davidson Playhouse. She was outgoing and loved nature. She loved to care for her beautiful rose garden both at home and at the Hope House. She cherished visits to the mountains and enjoyed travelling abroad with her cousin Ellen. Elaine did not have children but cared, loved and supported Yuki and Susie as her own. Most significantly, Elaine was a phenomenal human being and she lived by the Golden Rule and treated everyone as she wanted to be treated: with dignity and respect. She was courageous and found opportunities in every difficulty. She laughed and loved a lot and will surely be missed by many. Rest in peace sweet Elaine.
