Eleanor Puckett's Obituary
Eleanor Vance Puckett, 88, a resident of Davidson, NC, passed away Saturday, February 16th, 2013, at the Pines at Davidson.
After graduating from Appalachian State Teacher’s College, Boone, NC, she married Joe Lee Puckett Jr. in 1947. He preceded her in death on March 25th, 1991.
She is survived by son, Jody Puckett and wife, Jenny, of Winston-Salem; son, Mack Puckett and wife, Beth, of Mooresville; and daughter, Marie Nash and husband, Geoff, of Davidson.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Lee Puckett, Mandy Puckett, Michala Puckett, Mackenzie Puckett, great-grandchild, Alana Elizabeth Hopkins, and sister, Josephine Mowrer.
She became a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church after she married. Prior to her marriage, she was a member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church. For many years, she was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, an international honor society of women in education. She was President of the Alpha Zeta Chapter from 1972 – 1974. For over 30 years, she taught Home Economics and Child Care Development, with her last years at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville.
The family offers special thanks to the Pines at Davidson Healthcare members for their loving and caring support over the past 5 years.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21st, in the sanctuary of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private preceding the memorial service. The Reverends Allan Purtill and DiDi Wayland will conduct the rites and service. The family will receive guests following the memorial service in the Church.
