Elisabeth Tauber's Obituary
Elisabeth Gertrud Tauber, 80 of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed away October 18, 2017. She was born on February 3, 1937 in Rudenhausen, Germany to the late Adelbert and Anna Danzer.
Elisabeth was a devoted and loving wife to her “Schatz” Hans for 44 years. They had two daughters, Beatrice and Anita, who loved them beyond measure. Elisabeth was the world’s most compassionate and giving Oma to her two grandchildren, Melania and Hudson. She was also a loving mother to her son-in-law, Heath, who is eternally grateful for being embraced as a son by Elisabeth.
The love Elisabeth showed to her family was likewise shown to everyone she met. She began her career as a pediatric nurse in her homeland of Germany. Her love for children and their family members was evident with each family she cared for. Her love for others extended beyond her career. She met her husband in New York City after walking past a German Seventh-day Adventist Church in Manhattan. Together they led a life devoted to each other, God and their fellow man. This could be seen in the countless instances of Elisabeth baking fresh bread for a friend, bringing flowers from her beautiful flower garden to someone who was in the hospital with illness, or inviting friends home for a delicious home cooked meal.
Elisabeth was passionate about sharing her love of God to all she met. This included knocking on the doors of community members to share her personal experiences with Christ. This is her legacy. She is now in a place of quiet rest. A place of comfort sweet, a place where all is joy and peace, a place near to the Heart of God.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her husband Hans E.Tauber.
She is survived by her two daughters, Beatrice Prior and Anita Tauber of Cornelius, son-in law, Heath Prior of Cornelius and two grandchildren, Melania and Hudson Prior; and sister, Marichen Seubert of Germany.
Services in honor of Elisabeth will be held at 1 PM Monday, October 23, 2017, in the chapel of James Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service in the James Funeral Home Community Room. Following the reception, a private graveside service will take place at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
